Our brand-new Salesforce Developer, Tuğçe Şirin, is passionate about two things – solving bugs and championing the cause of women working in tech! Currently living in Madrid, Tuğçe likes to play video games and volunteer during her free time. With a university degree in computer engineering, she has been working for 7 years as a Salesforce developer. She is also a RAD Women and Copado mentor. Let’s hear more!
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
“Sure! My name is Tuğçe. I am originally from Turkey. After graduating from university, I started working as a Salesforce developer. I moved to Madrid three years ago and I really enjoy the weather here.”
Why did you choose Appsolutely?
“I had heard about Appsolutely about 3 or 4 years ago. At the time they were working on Alexa Skill builder, which I thought was very interesting. I also liked the fact that they are very supportive of their employees’ skill development. I always see their employees sharing their certifications. I thought that was a good sign.”
How will you contribute to Appsolutely?
“I am a good team mate. I will use my knowledge and skills to help the company grow. I am good at solving problems. It is something I really enjoy, so I’m hoping to make a difference there. I also have a great memory. I remember past incidents clearly and can then apply that information to a newer project later. I think as a developer, that would come in very handy.”
What goals are you aiming for?
“I am hoping to become a certified technical architect in the next 5 years. Of course, I also want to continue to grow as a developer.”
What will be a challenge?
“I think it is challenging to work at a new place without meeting people, getting to know them face to face. I like working with team mates. My previous job was completely remote, and I never went to the office. Maybe I will have to come visit my colleagues in the Netherlands!”
What are you looking forward to, at your new job with Appsolutely?
“I am really hoping to see some exciting problems! Not every day but I am hoping to tackle them often. I am excited about collaborating with my colleagues in the work environment. I am also waiting to see the various challenges that different customers at Appsolutely will bring. Another thing I look forward to, is getting back to consulting. That is what I did when I started working with Salesforce. In the last three years I worked as a Salesforce ISV partner and then as a customer. So, this would be a nice change.”
How would you describe your personality?
“I am very easy going. I like helping people. Which is also why I volunteer my time as a coach with RAD Women - a nonprofit for teaching women Salesforce development. I have been already doing this for 2.5 years.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“I enjoy gaming. I have a Nintendo switch and right now I am really killing it at Trivial Pursuit. I also enjoy dance-based games. I find that quite relaxing.”
