What’s that? The sound of a new colleague entering the stage… Say hi to Hugo! This 28-year-old boardgame fanatic, joined Appsolutely in March as a Salesforce-consultant. Let’s hear more.
Hi Hugo, welcome! Can you introduce yourself to us?
Sure! I’m 28 years old, I’m originally from a place called IJsselstein, but I’ve lived in Utrecht for the last 10 years or so. I came there to enter university and I had a great time living the student life. Some of the friends I made there, I still see regularly.
Sounds fun! Do you have any major hobbies you like to practice?
I’m a huge fan of playing board games. Me and my friends have a game night almost every weekend. It’s lots of fun, we have some beers and get quite competitive.
Are you just as competitive on the work floor? What kind of co-worker are you?
I’m very direct, I say what I think. Besides that, I really like socializing with my colleagues. Friends would say I’m a bit wacky, I appreciate a “good” sense of humor. It’s great that Appsolutely has a relatively small team, so there’s lot’s interaction with co-workers. That’s something I really enjoy!
You’ve had some work experience before. How did you get in touch with Appsolutely?
At my last job I also worked in Salesforce. After working there for two years, I decided that I was ready for a new challenge. I wanted to focus more on developing, not just consultancy. About that time a recruiter for Appsolutely approached me. It was a really good match and in March, I had my first day.
First days are always exciting. How did you experience your ‘debut’ at Appsolutely?
It was a bit of a ‘culture shock’, but in a positive sense. I used to work in a big company with thousands of employees. Appsolutely has a smaller team and the ambiance is a lot less formal. My first day consisted of a lot of introductions and getting to know my new colleagues. Off to a good start, I’d say!
Absolutely! And do you have any aims in mind for your new job?
Well, first of all, I want to get up to speed with the latest gadgets and tools available. And I want to focus mostly on product development instead of customer implementations. And of course, overall, I’m looking forward to having a great time as a member of team Appsolutely!
